Q: Do I like going back to the gym?

A: Probably not.

Q: Will I keep going to the gym?

A: Probably not.

But I think it will be beneficial for me, in the long run.

So that is why I’ve gone back to the gym. I have signed up and paid the joining and admin fee. No going back for me now. Let’s just hope that I’m not wasting my money.

I can't remember the last time I went to the gym. It was probably 18 months ago. I know it’s a long time for not doing any exercises at all.

I've got good reasons though: I was busy with my thesis, I was pregnant with my daughter, I gave birth to my daughter, I was too busy taking care of my daughter… There will always be a good reason for not going back to the gym. J

I’m not really a treadmill girl. I always do the group exercise classes. It is so much better for me to work out with a lot of people. That way, I can have other people to push me to keep going and keep me motivated. Yes, I don’t really have self motivation, especially in this area.

Yesterday, I did body pump. Oh man, now I’ve got muscle-aches all over my body. My quad, hamstring, back and chest hurts so badly due to all the squats, lunges and presses that I did yesterday. So, as expected, I didn’t go to the gym today. My reason: I need to rest all my muscles and get rid of the aches first.

Point of the story is… There is always a good reason for not going to the gym!!

Ps. I know I’m bad. LOL

Before my daughter was born, I didn't really shop around for baby clothes that much. I visited a couple of baby stores just to take a peek and have a look around. I did not buy anything though. As far as I remember, I bought a set of newborn essentials (gloves, socks, bib and a hat) and a jumpsuit with a picture of lion on it.

The things I bought are mostly not related to baby-fashion at all. I bought a lot of toys and stuff animals for her (because I like to play with them as well ^.^), pram, cot, mattress, bottles, car seat and baby chair.

Nevertheless, she now has a lot of clothes. Too many clothes for a baby, in my opinion. Where does her clothes come from? My mother! So, I better thank her for all the stuff she bought me.

Nowadays, baby's accessories are more sophisticated than they used to. Look at what my daughter has. She is 5 months old but she owns more headbands than me; and they are far cuter as well.

*She looks so sophisticated*

*This is cute to the max*

*I like the Hello Kitty on it*

Well, I suppose I should finish my rambling. I have written for a while, so bear with me...

Its been a while since the last time I posted here. Well, it's been much longer than 'a while'...

A lot has happened, I've graduated and I've given birth to a beautiful daughter. My blog now will not only include movies and TV shows, but also my life in general: work, family and baby. Hope you enjoy reading my entries.

*My little bundle of joy, right after she was born*

Don't worry, I'm still the same person. I still like to watch TV and more importantly I still love my Callian and Lie to me =)

I'll try to revive my journal and keep it alive.

Until then... CIAO!

I've been busy this last couple of weeks, which means that I don't really have much time to watch TV or any movies. However, channel Nine was showing a lot of Harry Potter lately, so I decided to record them and save them for later. First, I have to confess that I am not an avid fan of Harry Potter series. I have not read the book, I only watched the first installment but I wasn't impressed. So when the later installments came out, I never bothered to watch them. This is all happening in the midst of all my friends hypes and obsessions towards Harry Potter.

Last weekend, I have nothing planned. So I sat down on my favorite couch, gathered up a lot of snacks and started my Harry Potter marathon. I started with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. This is the one that I've watched before. I vaguely remember the storyline. I was totally engrossed and immersed in the world of Hogwarts. By the end of this movie, I was eager to watch the next installment.

So after approximately 12 hours of sitting on my couch and watching TV, I finally finished watching the first four installments of Harry Potter. I managed to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. That much time I spent watching Harry Potter and I enjoyed every minute of it.

The thing I like most with doing a Marathon is that I can watch the characters developed and grew before my eyes. They changed from their child-like appearances and attitudes to be more mature and good looking. I like watching them learning different kind of magic and spells and playing around with them. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson definitely scored big time. They actually grew up as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger and they will always be remembered as their respective characters. They will never have to work a single day in their life anymore and I think they earned it.

From Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, I like the back-story between arch nemesis Lord Voldermort and Harry. I also like how the characters were introduced. From Harry potter and the Chamber of Secrets, I like the sense of mystery in the story. It felt like there were a serial killer on the lose. I also like the fight scene between Harry and the giant snake in the end.

My favorite part from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is how neatly the 'going-back-in-time' scenes unfolded. I was really amazed when Harry and Hermoine went back in time and the questions in the previous scenes were answered one by one. I also like Gary Oldman as Sirius Black. Not only because he is a fantastic actor, but because he is also Tim Roth's best friend.
From Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I like the competitions and the prom. I also like the fact that Harry's were tricked to participate in the competitions so that Lord Voldermort can be resurrected.

I can't stop thinking what it would be like if Tim Roth accepted the offer as Professor Snape. I think it would change his life. He might not have time to do a television series like 'Lie to Me'. If he is not in 'Lie to Me', I would not be his fanatic fan. So the silver lining is, Tim rejecting the role of Professor Snape brings him to me. Yay :D

Overall, I think the Harry Potter series are very balanced. Each installment provides us with the right amount of drama, thrill, mystery and humor. J.K Rowling is clearly a genius for coming up with this. After watching four Harry Potter movies, I now proudly announce that I am a big fan of Harry Potter. I just have to watch Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix before I can watch Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. After that, I'll start reading the books.

This is a long overdue post. I struggled to get hold of this DVD at first. However, with my extreme fascination for Tim Roth, I finally managed to watch it. Hooray for me. I describe this movie as 'beautiful' and 'strange'. I know those two adjectives seldom come together to describe something, but this movie is just it. It is beautiful but very strange. Tim Roth plays Dominique Matei, a 70 year old professor of language who is struck by lightning and becomes young again.

http://www.movietrimmer.com/content/default/english/images/movies/155676_3.jpg

There's a lot of Tim in this movie and he shines. He showcases his acting skills and his commitments as an actor. There are different phases of him all throughout this movie: old Tim, young Tim, teeth-less Tim, Tim with mustache, Tim talking several languages and many more. I am not at all disappointed with the amount of Tim Roth I can see in this movie.

Several interesting things that I found in this movie is that Tim's nose is 6 cm long. I also have to agree to the statement in the movie that "he is the most valuable human specimen in the world". My favorite scene is around 40 minutes mark, where Tim is lying on a bed with only a small towel covering his private bits. You have to check it out for yourself.

Francis Ford Coppola is such a fine director. His directing is superb. Very unique, subtle and interesting to watch. I especially like his directing whenever Tim talks to his other personality. The storyline however is so weird. I got my confused face on while I'm watching this movie. In one hand, I found the idea of researching the origin of language is highly interesting. On the other hand, the idea of the powers he obtained after being hit by lightning is pretty out there.

I'm even more lost when he has his mutant powers. First, he becomes young again, then he can know stuffs, he can read very quickly and he has a telekinetic ability. It all doesn't make any sense. The second part of the movies make me even more confused. When Veronica appears in the movie and she becomes Rupini, I was completely lost. What is transmigration of the soul? She seems possessed.

Well, the end of the movie does not help the movie at all. He is back to his old self, visiting his usual coffee shop and meeting his old friends. Does this mean that everything is in his mind? Or, it did happened, but then he becomes old again? I'm so confused. I reckon, I should start reading other people's review about this movie. I am usually someone who can get the grasp of a movie rather quickly, but obviously not in this case. I got my 'confused' look all throughout the movie.

I have always been partial to villains. So I'm thrilled that most of Tim Roth's characters are villains. Archibald Cunningham has to be one of the most disgraceful human being on the planet but I'm so attracted to him. Pretty sure, because he is acted by Tim Roth.

I like everything about Archibald Cunningham (his name, his personality, his cruelties, etc). The only things I don't like are his make up, long red wig and his girly-like movements.

Another great acting by Tim Roth. No surprise he got nominated for the Academy Award.

Quick update on the winner of Reality TV shows that I've been watching lately:
  • HOMEmade: Jason
  • Football Superstar: Luke
  • Masterchef: Julie

Alas, my favorites never win! I really am a jinx. I shouldn't root for anybody I really like because everyone that I rooted always end up second!

Pretty upset that three shows are over.

Current reality TV show that I'm following are:
  • So you think you can dance
  • Project Runway Australia
  • Stylista
  • True Beauty
  • Australian Idol

Don't have any favorites for those yet.. Maybe, I better not :)

Another great episode of The Closer. It was light, funny and highly entertaining. I was immediately hooked by the opening scene. Flynn and Provenza were having breakfast in a diner, Flynn teased Provenza about his new diet and Provenza telling Flynn about his sex lives. All of these happening while there were ruckus outside of the diner. Police cars, fire brigades, ambulances were passing by and they didn't even care. Chief Pope who was tagging along our beloved detectives were bewildered by this. I enjoy the chemistry and banters between Pope - Flynn - Provenza.

There are more Pope in this episode, but I'm not complaining. I think J.K Simmons is a great actor and his scenes amuse me. Overall, the story line is great. I like the idea of having a detective impersonator who jeopardizes the Major Crime Division investigation. Making the impersonator crazy is icing on the cake. He is truly out of this world, as he believes that he is a real detective, working for the LAPD. I was a bit surprised to find out that he was fake, after his very believable first scene.

A lot of favorite scenes in this episode. Some of them being Sanchez recognizing who Intrigue was. He seemed to worship the guy too, as he knows a lot of things about the pick-up artist. The website featuring Pope is funny, especially the MCD detectives' reactions upon looking at it. The scene where Pope and Johnson trying to trick the crazy detective to give up the password is also worth mentioning.

I don't really understand the woman who was shouting and screaming all the time. What is all that about? At first, it was funny but nearing the end, it was borderline annoying.

The best line was at the final scene, with Brenda telling Pope that the only thing that unites all the divisions of LAPD is that they all lie to their boss. Love it!

I watched Bruno last night. I was so excited and it was actually a movie I was anticipating since June. Once it came out on Wednesday, I immediately freed up my weekend and got to watch it on Friday. The movie did not disappoint. I laughed my ass of several times! I was so full of laughter that I could not sit still most of the time during the movie.

http://www.reeltalktv.com/BrunoPoster.jpg

I think Sascha Baron Cohen is a genius, a chameleon and obviously a great actor. He is able to transform himself into different characters: Ali. G, Borat and Bruno. They are very different from each other but Cohen manages to breath unique and interesting lives to each of those unique characters. As a comedian, he has distinctive sense of humor. He is brave and bold enough to poke into area that other comedians dare not touch, such as sexuality (in particular homosexuality), religion, politics, etc. Most of the issues he raised are true and correct.

Bruno is a movie I highly enjoyed. There are so many funny and clever lines, great reactions and shocking scenes. The highlights of the movie are plenty. To name a few:
  • Mexican Furniture and the food platter
  • Talking penis
  • Bruno trying to make a porn movie with Ron Paul
  • Being an extra in 'Medium'
  • Hunting with three straight men
  • The scenes in the Army
  • Waking up with his assistant in the hotel
  • UFC scenes
It's actually faster if I list the things that I don't like from this movie: The fact that it's only 81 minutes.

I have to agree that this movie is rather offensive. If you like Borat, you'll definitely like or even love Bruno. However, if you think Borat is a piece of crap (I disagree!!), then Bruno is not for you. Shame!!! I'll definitely, undoubtedly, unquestionably watch this movie again.

I watched this movie right after watching 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'. I was not really excited to watch Terminator and Transformers back-to-back, but my husband did not want to watch 'The Proposal'. Nothing else was on around that time, so we ended up watching Terminator. I was thinking to myself, "Great! From giant robots to human-size robots."

http://www.viralblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/terminator-salvation-poster2.jpg

Terminator is darker both in the sense of the story and visually. The atmosphere of the story is rather gloomy. Everything was destroyed (or partly destroyed), human hides from the robots and they live in run-down places like an underground bunker, deserted tunnels, etc. I don't know why but most movies that takes place in the future, depicts the future to be in worse condition than the presence. The technologies are worse and living conditions are worse. Where are the flying cars, where are the automated robots... Oops the terminators have those, its just they were killing humans!!!

Christian Bale and Sam Worthington give good performances. Not much acting is needed when its all about the actions. Great kudos are given to Anton Yelchin, who plays Kyle Reese in this movie. He apparently plays Chekov, one of my favorite characters in Star Trek. Very excited when I find out about that. I'm now looking forward to his upcoming projects. He is great.

Another actress I noticed immediately was Helena Bonham Carter. I didn't expect her to be in the movie, since she always appear in Tim Burton's masterpieces. It was a pleasant surprise. I like her as an actress. I think she is unique and special. I like her even more after finding out that she worked together with Tim Roth in 'Planet of the Apes'.

The most absurd thing about this movie is in the end when John Connor was dying and Marcus heroically offered him to take his heart. Come on people, even if the movie takes place in the future (2018 is not that far by the way), how can they do a heart transplant without testing their blood types, tissue sample, biological match and DNA?

I am not a big fan of the little romance between Marcus and Blair. It seems out of place. I don't really understand the motivation behind Blair, betraying all her friends to free up Marcus. I know she said,"I see a man, not a robot", but that reason alone is not enough to justify your betrayal.

The famous line "I'll be back" was said by John Connor. Maybe, the next Terminator movie will have the other famous Arnold's line "Astalavista, baby". (If, there is a next Terminator movie). Quite happy to heard that line, but a little bit sad that it's not said by Arnold. He is too busy becoming the Governator. No more Terminator for him.

The robots in Transformers are way cooler than the robots in Terminator. It's understandable, since robots in Transformers are actually aliens (living being), whereas the ones in the Terminator are made by humans, in a run down factory. The target audiences are pretty different too. Terminator has more serious tone, compare to Transformers.

Overall, I think Terminator is a decent movie. It's not as bad as I thought it would, but its not something that I'll rewatch again in the future.
